Eco-experts: You can’t force waste on villages

The state government’s move to deploy a 1,000-strong police posse to escort garbage trucks ferrying waste to Mavallipura landfill, in the face of stiff resistance from farmers, has not gone down well with environment activists. On Wednesday, deputy chief minister and city in-charge minister R Ashoka directed the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) to allow dumping of garbage at Mavallipura.
